Summer Coaching Waiver Period Begins June 15
The Saint Paul Public Schools Athletics Department is opening the summer coaching waiver period starting Monday, June 15.
The summer coaching waiver period allows coaches to contact athletes and schedule practices and workouts during the summer months when there is no school.
The summer coaching waiver period will consist of two phases. The first phase will include outdoor activities from June 15 - August 6. The second phase will consist of indoor activities from June 22 - August 6.
Due to the continued presence of COVID-19, a variety of guidelines, expectations and daily procedures will be implemented to keep all coaches and athletes safe. These include hand-washing requirements, COVID-19 screening questionnaires, enforced coach-to-athlete ratio limits and sanitation recommendations, among many other protocols.
All athletes must register with their coaches before being allowed to participate. Please contact your athletic director with questions about registering for the summer coaching waiver period. Please note, failure to follow the expectations, procedures and guidelines as outlined by SPPS will result in the student athlete being immediately dismissed from the program with no refund issued.
Thank you for supporting your child and Saint Paul Public Schools.
***All optional summer coaching waiver workouts that had been on the schedule for Central are temporarily postponed until further notice. SPPS is working on a plan and we will keep everyone updated on this website as things progress. Thank you for your patience. If you have any questions, please reach out to your respective coach
Welcome to the St. Paul Central Boys Soccer Program 2020/2021 season!
Hi there, my name is Coach David and jointly with my coaching staff we are excited that you want to join our program at Central. Our intention is to build and maintain a soccer program that is among the best of the state, while developing great players and people. We have had strong back to back seasons, winning the St Paul City Conference and our section and placing 3rd at the State Tournament two years in a row and we want to build from there and continue to be among the best Soccer Programs of the state, and YOU could be part of it!
This letter will provide you with important information as you prepare for Central H.S. and playing high school soccer. Our Central soccer program is a very competitive sport program with a large time and effort commitment for a 3 ½ month period beginning in August and ending in late October. Tryouts are open to all eligible players, last year we had 127 kids trying out, and to keep the rosters of each team manageable and coachable we will make cuts. Central Soccer ONLY fields three 22 rostered player teams. The teams will consist of a Varsity, a JV, and a B-Squad. The B-Squad is made up only of 9th graders, and serves as their introduction to our program and the school. On Monday, August 17th official tryouts start! From this point, those selected to be Central soccer players can expect to play 5 or 6 days a week every week until the end of the season in October.
A key part of our program is our voluntary Central summer soccer training, during this time players get in top physical shape, do strength and conditioning training, learn about nutrition for performance, play a ton and get to know and play each other, the coaches, and captains, all while learning about our culture (#CENTRALSTRONG) and what it means to play for Central. If you still have questions that are not answered by this letter please contact me Coach David at 651-964-8126 or at Coach.David@futbolforall.org. Also, please “like” and follow our social media accounts since these are the official means for announcements for the team and are kept up to date with team info:
